College Level Exam Program - CLEP
The College-Level Examination Program® or CLEP, provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of computer-based exams in undergraduate college courses. There are over 2,900 colleges that grant credit and/or advanced standing to those who pass CLEP exams.
By passing a CLEP exam, you can:
- "Test out" of a first or second year college course.
- Get college credit for what you already know.
- Save time while earning a degree.
- Save tuition dollars.
Special Notes
- Before registering for a CLEP exam, check with an adviser at your school/institution to determine whether CLEP credits will satisfy your personal degree requirements.
- All CLEP exams are given at PSU, but not all CLEP exams are approved for PSU students.
- Check the PSU CLEP Table for exams approved for PSU students.
- What your score means. Go to the collegeboard.com website to find out what your score means.
- Whenever you request academic transcripts, you must also request a separate CLEP transcript.
