Test Preparation

Testing Services does not recommend any particular method of preparing for the TOEFL.

You may want to start by going to: http://www.toefl.org/onsitetst/itpabout.html (official TOEFL web site, maintained by the Educational Testing Service, (ETS) the company in charge of the TOEFL.) FREE prep are materials are available at this site. The following link is to the ETS Institutional TOEFL Help site:

TOEFL PREPARATION AND SAMPLE QUESTIONS

ETS advises: "...Language proficiency and writing ability can only be achieved after a relatively long period of study and practice. An attempt to study English for the first time shortly before taking the tests will not be very helpful. Familiarity with the format, however, is helpful in preparing for the test."

There are also TOEFL prep books and software available in libraries, bookstores and from online booksellers. You may also check out our Testing Services Links.

In addition, do not forget to read the handbook given to you when you register.
